We are diverse people coming together to take action that enhances education, perpetuates our culture, and builds our community’s capacity.
We are a combination small business incubator and community think tank — a resource for emerging nonprofit programs focused on building healthy individuals and communities on our Island.
During the past 26 years, we have sponsored and nurtured more than 60 community-based programs. Some are still with us, several stand independently, and many have completed their work or become part of other nonprofit organizations.
Our Board of Directors contributes vision and guidance that melds a range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

Aloha,
With a lifetime of lessons learned, I like to share with the people I meet. I want our youth to be imaginative and inventive because they will be our future creative, resourceful leaders.
As a visionary and futurist, I have learned that dreams and visions have a way of predicting and preceding reality. I’ve had many big dreams in my life and many have come true.
Friends of the Future enables today’s dreams to become tomorrow’s realities.Earl E. Bakken
